Child Care

VCS provides child care for Elementary and Middle School students. Child care opens at 7 a.m. on school days, and closes at 5:30 p.m.

All Elementary and Middle School students are automatically enrolled in child care. You do not need to fill out a separate enrollment form. Please make sure the school has your current contact and pick-up information.

Before School: Child care opens at 7 a.m. All Elementary students who arrive before 7:30 a.m. must report to the first-grade playground and check in with the supervising aide. Elementary students who arrive before 7:30 a.m. will be charged $7 per day for before-school care.

After School: All Elementary students will be kept in the classroom/child care area until pick-up. Middle School students must check in at the Middle School patio no later than 3:15 p.m. if they have not been picked up. Parents should pick up these students by going to the child care gate on the first-grade playground and checking out with the timekeeper. Please do not call your students on their cell phones to have them check themselves out or to have them leave childcare; this may result in inaccurate charges.

  • 3:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.: $7 for any portion of the first hour per student; $3.50 per half hour per student after the first hour
  • After 5:30 p.m. $2.00 per minute per child

All charges for child care will appear on your monthly tuition statement.

There is no charge for after-school child care from 3:10 p.m. to 3:45 p.m., provided the child is picked up by 3:45 p.m. All Elementary or MS students remaining on campus after 3:45 p.m. will be considered to be in child care and will be charged beginning at 3 p.m. Students who are in an approved after-school activity which starts before 3:30 p.m. may report directly there. If their activity (practice, lesson, tutoring, etc.) starts after 3:30 p.m. the student must report to child care.

Afternoon child care closes at 5:30 p.m. All Elementary and Middle School students must be picked up by that time. Students may not wait on campus for evening activities to begin.
