Putignano Set to Become VCS co-Athletic Director

Sun Valley, Calif. – Current Village Christian Dean of Students, Diana Putignano, will transition to the co-Athletic Director role later this month, the school has announced.

Putignano, whose VCS tenure began as an Athletic Trainer in 2008, will serve alongside Jarod Ebenhack in leading the Athletics Department.

“I’m very excited about this opportunity to return to my roots and plan to do whatever I can to help the Athletics Department continue to grow,” she said.

After serving as a co-Athletic Director for the 2018-2019 school year, Richard Broussard will focus on Director of Football Operations duties and continue working with VCS students as a teacher.

Putignano holds a Bachelors of Sciences in Exercise Science from the University of Iowa and a Masters of Education in Leadership and Policy Studies with an emphasis in Athletics from Arizona State University.

During her studies at the University of Arizona, Iowa, and Arizona State, she gained a wide variety of experience in NCAA Division I athletics, including football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, softball, wrestling, and aquatics.

At VCS, Putignano developed the Sports Medicine program, established Village as a clinical site in partnership with Cal State Northridge, taught biology and human anatomy, and shared athletics administrative duties until transitioning to the Dean of Students role in 2016. She is also a Concentrations® co-Dean in Health and Environment.

“I’m confident that Diana will bring the skills, the care, and the hard work we need to continue our legacy of a championship-level Athletics Department,” said Head of School Tom Konjoyan.
