The Village Elementary Choral Program has a long, proud tradition of award-winning excellence. Students are offered two leveled ensembles which gives them the opportunity to practice more advanced singing skills over the course of their time in the program. In Crusader Choir, second and third grade singers learn the basics of pitch matching, tone production, two-part harmonization, vowel shaping, and choral blend and balance. In Village Voices, fourth and fifth grade singers continue to expand on those skills. Students in both groups sing in multiple languages each year and have several performances. Both groups also have the opportunity to attend a professionally adjudicated competition in the spring (which includes an afternoon at Disneyland or Knotts Berry Farm). The goal of the program is to foster a life-long love of singing and to provide students with the skills necessary to continue their musical education beyond their elementary years.
