These tools are selected to support instructional goals, improve student engagement, provide timely feedback, personalize learning, strengthen digital literacy skills, and prepare students for success in college, careers, and an increasingly technology-driven world.
How do teachers use technology like videos or interactive tools in the classroom?
At Village Christian School, technology is used as a tool to enhance instruction, increase student engagement, and create meaningful learning experiences across all grade levels and subject areas. Teachers integrate multimedia resources, including instructional videos, simulations, virtual demonstrations, and interactive presentations to support diverse learning styles and help students develop a deeper understanding of complex concepts.
Interactive platforms such as Google Workspace for Education, Nearpod, Quizizz, Edpuzzle, Pear Deck, IXL, Albert.io, and other subject-specific tools are used to encourage active participation, collaboration, formative assessment, and personalized learning. These resources enable teachers to monitor student progress in real time, assess understanding, differentiate instruction, and provide timely support when needed.
Technology also plays an important role in fostering creativity, communication, research, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Students regularly use digital tools to create presentations, videos, multimedia projects, and other assignments that demonstrate their learning. In STEM courses, students engage with robotics, coding, data analysis, engineering, and digital design tools that provide hands-on, real-world learning experiences. Students are taught to use technology as a learning tool, properly cite sources, disclose AI assistance when required, protect personal information, and engage respectfully in digital environments. Digital citizenship lessons are provided through classroom instruction, advisory/seminar programs, and structured resources focused on online safety, wellness, and character development.
What does Village Christian look for in a student?
Students applying to attend VCS must meet specific academic and behavioral standards. You can review our Admissions Standards here.
Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten
For students entering Junior Kindergarten or Kindergarten, we look for children who demonstrate academic and social readiness during the admissions assessment. Students should also be able to follow multi-step directions and function successfully in a classroom environment.
Elementary School (Grades 1-5)
Students must demonstrate academic readiness in English, Math, and Writing on the admissions assessment. Applications should also include report cards showing performance at or above grade level, along with strong recommendations from current teachers or school administrators.
Middle and High School (Grades 6-12)
Applicants must provide academic records indicating performance at or above grade level in all core subjects. In addition, recommendations should reflect positive citizenship and indicate no ongoing behavioral or disciplinary concerns.
How many students are admitted in each grade?
VCS accepts students in all grade levels based on space availability. The majority of openings each year are in Junior Kindergarten, Kindergarten, 6th grade, and 9th grade, as these are our primary entry points. While openings may become available in other grade levels, they are typically much more limited.
I received a wait pool decision email. What does that mean?
A wait pool decision is neither an acceptance nor a denial. It means that your student has met the qualifications for admission to VCS, but we do not currently have an available space in the requested grade level.
Students who wish to remain in the wait pool will be contacted if a spot becomes available. Openings may occur at any time and can become available up until the start of the new school year.
Please note that the wait pool does not carry over from one year to the next. Students who remain in the wait pool and are not offered admission will need to complete a new application if they wish to be considered for admission in a future school year.
Village Christian is our first choice. Should I apply to other schools?
Village Christian School receives a high volume of applications each year for a limited amount of space per grade level. Due to the sheer volume of applicants, we are not able to admit every single student that submits an application. We always encourage families to apply to other schools, even if Village Christian is their top choice.
What is your student enrollment? What is the average class size?
Village Christian School is home to 1,310 students enrolled in grades Junior Kindergarten through 12th grade. Class sizes vary between 20-26 students.

What does Village Christian do to help new students adjust to a new school?
At VCS, we want every new student to feel welcomed and embraced by our community from the very beginning. Each year, we host a Meet the Teacher Night during the week before school starts. This event gives students of all grade levels the opportunity to meet their teacher, visit their classroom, and become familiar with our campus.
For our Middle School and High School students, we also offer a New Student Orientation the day before school begins. This special event allows students to meet other new students, tour the campus, participate in games and activities, and feel more comfortable and confident before the start of the school year.
In Elementary School, teachers dedicate time during the first week of school for activities designed to help students get to know their classmates, build connections, and develop new friendships in a welcoming classroom environment.
