HONORING OUR RETIREES | Barbie Enterline, Tom Nare, Jan Schermerhorn, Jean Wertz

On Monday, June 1, during the school’s Year-End Employee Meeting, Village Christian honored four incredible educators – Barbie Enterline, Tom Nare, Jan Schermerhorn, and Jean Wertz – whose love and dedication to the school, students, and community at large will be deeply missed.

These four remarkable individuals represent a combined 136 years at VCS. The lasting impact they leave on VCS will resonate for years to come.

Please join us in thanking Ms. Enterline, Mr. Nare, Mrs. Schermerhorn, and Mrs. Wertz as we all congratulate them on their retirements.

Barbie Enterline

Ms. Enterline has taught at Village Christian for 35 years. Her profound impact on Elementary students for more than three decades will be deeply missed. VCS is a better place because of her. Thank you, Ms. Enterline.

Tom Nare

For 40 years, Mr. Nare has poured his heart and soul into the Village Christian community. From teacher to administrator to mentor, his love for students has always been paramount. A mainstay of the VCS experience, we remain so thankful for his impact on the school and generations of young hearts and minds. Thank you, Mr. Nare.

Jan Schermerhorn

Mrs. Schermerhorn’s 28 years at Village included time as a teacher, counselor, and coach – every role anchored by her love for God and VCS students. We are so thankful for Mrs. Schermerhorn and the dedication with which she approached every day at Village Christian. Thank you, Mrs. Schermerhorn.

Jean Wertz

Mrs. Wertz has been on staff at VCS for 33 years (and been involved even longer as a parent). Her passion for music and each young musician she taught was ever-present as she developed a thriving music program at Village Christian. Thank you, Mrs. Wertz.
