Sun Valley, Calif. – Village Christian School has hired Julian Andrade as its new head boys basketball coach and promoted Eddie Miller to associate head boys basketball coach, the school has announced.
Andrade and Miller previously worked together at Bellarmine-Jefferson High School, helping lead the Guards to multiple league titles.
“We are like family,” Andrade said of Miller. “I’m very, very, very fortunate that we will be working together again.
“Stability is the No. 1 thing I want to bring [to VCS]. I’m in it for the long haul and to build the program back up for years to come,” Andrade added when discussing Crusaders’ 2012 CIF State and 2014 and 2015 CIF-Southern Section titles. “We are going to have some fun.”
Andrade, a former head coach at Oaks Christian and Eagle Rock high schools, has also been a top assistant at Calabasas and Chaminade. Considered one of the top shooting coaches in the Greater Los Angeles area, his experience extends to elite clubs, having led AAU teams to top-10 national recognition.
Miller, a former standout player at Washington State University and Ventura College, has coached at the AAU level for 17 years. He has been a mainstay at VCS since his hiring in 2017, during which time he has coached at all levels within the basketball program and developed outstanding relationships with the student-athletes.
“God has brought me to this special place to continue to minister to the youth, encourage confidence, and build self-esteem. I am dedicated to helping all of our kids grow, not just as athletes, but mentally and spiritually as well,” Miller said. “I can assure all of our Village families that both our administration and our basketball staff will continue to strive for success as a school and basketball program.”

Their basketball knowledge, compassion for our students, and character will help our boys learn all the great lessons basketball teaches as well as help them develop in skills and character.
