Welcome to Village Christian High School, where our mission is to provide a Christ-centered education producing students who thrive. We believe that our mission allows us to develop programs and initiatives that are centered on Jesus and benefit students as they grow through these pivotal four years.

Our signature academic program, Concentrations®, is based on the Harvard College model and allows high school students to explore areas of potential career interest. Concentrations® was created for students to gain valuable knowledge and experiences that help them find their spark in an innovative learning environment. Alongside Concentrations® is “The Experience,” a week-long experiential learning program that gives students a chance to choose from a variety of immersive learning opportunities. These experiences can take students to impactful places throughout the Greater Los Angeles Area to other parts of the country…and even across the globe.

In addition to our academic programs, we offer championship-caliber athletics, award-winning visual and performing arts, a diverse array of clubs, and a host of other engaging extracurricular activities. It is our heart to provide opportunities that allow students to grow socially, mentally, and spiritually.

At the center of all we do is our commitment to Jesus and to seeing our students grow spiritually and draw closer to Him. We encourage students to reflect and ask challenging questions that develop their personal relationship with Jesus and what their faith means.

And they will never do it alone. Whether it’s our 1:5® Circles of CARE mentoring initiative or the day-to-day investment from our devoted high school faculty and staff, students will walk through the high school years with a community deeply invested in their success. Our faculty and staff have incredible hearts for students and desire to build relationships that last throughout students’ high school years and beyond.

Here at VCS, we value relationships and work to find ways for students to be connected to each other as well as dedicated and caring mentors – all focused on growing into the people that Jesus is calling them to be.

In Him,

Dana Mikels
High School Principal

Meet a teacher

The high school years are a time of incredible growth and opportunity for students as they mature into capable individuals who will graduate in four short years and begin the journey into young adulthood. As parents and students enter high school, they do so with an eye toward the finish line: how do I make the most of my high school experience; what is the right college and major for me; will I be accepted; how will I succeed once I am there?

At Village Christian, we intentionally guide students to explore these questions through Concentrations. As students work through their Concentration, they rule out careers (saving time and money in the college years), and rule in careers aligned with their aptitude and giftedness. They gain practical experiences which they can leverage in the college admission process, take ownership of their learning, and focus on their futures after college. These advantages make them the prime candidates that colleges and employers seek.

High School Fine Arts

The Fine Arts Department at Village Christian School embodies the belief that the Arts play an integral part of academia to inspire, nurture and enhance the cultural lives of our students. Our goal is to recognize the gifts of each of our students and through mentorship, education and practice, develop their skills with excellence and discipline. We want our students to graduate with a strong foundation in Christ, confidence in who He created them to be, excellence in their artistic skills and to make an impact in the entertainment industry or any career of their choosing.

High School Athletics

Sports help develop healthy habits, attitudes, and ideals necessary for ethical competition and cooperation in society. Athletic opportunities also help students with life-long lessons for personal and spiritual growth such as sportsmanship, teamwork, commitment, loyalty, self-discipline, and integrity — qualities that help prepare students for leadership on and off the field.

Village Christian aims to compete with excellence, sportsmanship, and in a way that honors Christ. Student-athletes have the chance to play at a variety of levels across multiple sports, all while receiving expert coaching, participating in college-model strength/conditioning and sports medicine programs, and receiving guidance to continue their careers at the collegiate level.

For more information on High School Athletics programs, visit the Athletics department.

Student Leadership

High school students at Village Christian have many opportunities to rise into leadership. These classes require application and references.

The Associated Student Body (ASB) class is open to 9th-12th graders, and promotes both school spirit and a positive spiritual atmosphere on our campus through various school activities such as dances, seasonal rallies, morning devotions, and grade-level events. ASB members serve as leaders among our student body and provide a channel of representation between students and school administration.

Servant Leadership exists to help 11th-12th grade students learn about the servant leadership model that Jesus embodies (Philippians 2:5-8, Mark 10:45). Servant Leaders lead middle school life groups, assist in weekly chapels, and serve at Village and in the community in a variety of ways. Through this meaningful experience, students engage their hands, head and heart to be formed more and more like Christ.

Worship Arts is a 10th-12th grade auditioned group of musicians and Christ-followers who seek to lead their campus in worship through music.

Leadership is a key emphasis in high school life at Village. Visit our Spiritual Life page to learn more.

High School Clubs

Clubs offer many opportunities for high school students to get involved outside of the classroom and meet with other students who share like-minded interests.
